I saw this on Rosie's blog and liked it so I stole it :-) Here's what you need to do:
A. Upon receiving this tag, immediately perform a screen capture of your desktop. It is best that no icons be deleted before the screen capture so as to add to the element of fun. You can do a screen capture by going to your desktop and pressing the Print Scrn key (located on the right side of the F12 key). For Macs, press shift-option-3 then look for the .png file on your desktop. Open a graphics program (like Picture Manager, Paint, or Photoshop) and do a Paste (CTRL + V).
If you wish, you can “edit” the image, before saving it.
B. Post the picture in your blog. You can also give a short explanation on the look of your desktop just below it if you want. You can explain why you preferred such look or why is it full of icons. Things like that.
C. Tag five of your friends and ask them to give you a Free View of their desktop as well.
D. Add your name to the list of Free Viewers below with a link pointing directly to your Desktop Free View post to promote it to succeeding participants.
The list of Free Viewers so far is:

And here's my desktop (click on the pic for a bigger version):
The shot of Monument Valley is from Webshots. I don't like a lot of crap on the desktop, and what's there gets a new icon with each season/holiday--I've got the Halloween ones going on at the moment. I also don't like to keep a lot of programs in the dock, just the ones I use every day--I use Spotlight to launch the ones I use infrequently, just seems neater. Got several Yahoo widgets active--I much prefer this to Apple's Dashboard, which I've disabled because it's too slow and I don't like that it's in the background. I've got the weather in Boulder (latest ms is set there), a picture frame that shows random shots related to the manuscript, a countdown (courtesy of the Target desktop shopper), a ladybug that beetles around, and a hula girl, just for fun. I was also watching the NBC podcast when I snapped this.
I'm not going to tag anyone because I'm tagging everyone. Let me know if you do it so I can check out your desktop. I'm nosey that way :-)
This was the blog of an Eloise wannabe and her 2 roustabout kitties as they work on a book deal in the City of Lights, giggling all the way. Now it's the blog of an Eloise wannabe planning her next escape (California, Canadia?) with 2 other kitties--still working, still giggling.
