I'm sure it's going to be a welcome change from the book I just slogged through. The tween protagonist was described in reviews as "precocious" and "witty" but, for me, she sounded too old for her age. The mother was flat-out a whiny pain in the ass and the manner in which family secrets were revealed was annoying. Silly me, I kept reading when I should have set it aside but I was waiting for the book to redeem itself. Oh well, at least it had a pretty cover ;-)
